The Technical Project Manager will play a key role in supporting the successful execution of complex, multi-disciplinary projects by managing timelines, resources, deliverables, and communication across teams. This role ensures that project goals are met efficiently and effectively, while maintaining alignment with AIR's standards and client expectations.
The Technical Project Manager will report to AIR's Healthcare Innovations Team, which supports high-quality implementation and produces rigorous evidence on the effectiveness of new approaches to care and payment—translating findings into actionable insights for policymakers, payers, providers, and patients.
This position has the flexibility to work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of AIR's U.S. office locations. This does not include U.S. territories.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Project Directors and Task Leaders to plan, execute, and monitor project tasks, timelines, and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including standard templates, workflows, and processes aligned with AIR's best practices and contractual requirements.
- Track project progress using tools such as Jira, updating dashboards and ensuring timely completion of tasks and tickets.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for project planning, implementation, and reporting.
- Forecast and analyze project data, synthesizing insights into reports and visualizations to inform decision-making.
- Monitor project benchmarks and performance indicators, identifying risks and recommending adjustments as needed.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and facilitate communication to ensure alignment and accountability.
- Support resource planning and allocation to optimize team performance and meet project goals.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline project management practices.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in public policy, economics, education, psychology, political science, communications, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, data analysis, and staffing processes; or an advanced degree (MBA, MPA) with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
- Experience managing technical or data-driven projects is preferred, but not required.
- PMP certification is preferred, but not required.
Skills
- Effective communication skills for efficient collaboration in a virtual environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project needs.
- Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and facilitation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across teams and with clients.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and delivering high-impact results.
