Med/Surg RN - Ortho/Joint - Day Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 16-week contract position.

Schedule

The position requires a day shift schedule of either 3x12 hours or 4x12 hours, from 07:00 to 19:30.

Job Description

We are seeking a Med/Surg Registered Nurse with experience in Orthopedic and Joint care. The ideal candidate should be able to provide quality care to adult and geriatric patients while maintaining a patient ratio of 1:6. Floating to other units may be required within the specialty and sister facilities. The position mandates working weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care and administer medications as prescribed.
• Monitor and assess patient progress and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Assist with orthopedic procedures and post-operative care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical and respiratory therapy.
• Ensure adherence to safety and infection control standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg experience, with specific experience in orthopedics preferred.
• Must hold a valid RN license in Maryland or a Compact License.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications are preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is a plus.
