Occupational Therapist, Acute Care

UCHealth is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our Acute Care team within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide evidence-based, patient-centered occupational therapy services to adult and geriatric patients with complex medical conditions in an acute hospital setting. You will complete comprehensive evaluations, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team that may include physicians, nurses, case managers, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other specialists. Your work will focus on restoring or optimizing functional independence in activities of daily living, functional mobility, cognition, and safety, while facilitating safe and timely discharge planning. Responsibilities include performing standardized assessments, documenting clearly and efficiently in the electronic medical record, educating patients and families on home programs and equipment needs, recommending appropriate durable medical equipment, and participating in interdisciplinary rounds and care conferences.
