This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for working researchers, academics, and industry specialists who want to apply their domain expertise in a high-impact, intellectually stimulating environment. No prior AI experience needed — just rigorous scientific knowledge and a sharp eye for detail.

What You'll Do

• Develop, solve, and critically review advanced material science problems with real-world scientific relevance
• Apply your expertise in semiconductor materials, molecular modeling, or related disciplines to design complex, accurate problem statements
• Evaluate AI-generated scientific reasoning for rigor, depth, and accuracy
• Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and other domain experts to enhance model performance
• Ensure scientific clarity, precision, and depth across all deliverables
• Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

• Master's or PhD in Material Science, or a closely related field, from a recognized university
• Strong expertise in semiconductor materials, molecular modeling, or adjacent areas of materials research
• Comfortable coding in Python or MATLAB for research or technical problem-solving
• Exceptionally detail-oriented — you catch errors others miss and hold your work to a high standard
• Clear, precise written communicator who can articulate complex scientific concepts with confidence
• Based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand

Nice to Have

• Experience in data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training workflows
• Background in computational materials science, solid-state physics, or quantum chemistry
• Familiarity with simulation tools such as VASP, Quantum ESPRESSO, or LAMMPS
• Prior work in semiconductor device physics, thin-film deposition, or surface science
