Details Work in the Telemetry unit of a short-term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds Level II Trauma Center Post-op patient population including CABG, TAVR, general surgery, bariatric, and thoracic cases Patient ratio of 1:5 Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 0700-1930) Every other weekend required plus holiday rotation per department needs Floating required, including to the Milford Campus as needed Charting performed in Epic Requirements Active RN license (CT or compact) required BLS certification required Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams Experience with central line, peripheral line, and PICC line care/management Experience with chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac) and tracheostomy care Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) Wound care/wound vac experience Experience with pre/post cardiac surgery and TAVR patients 1 professional reference required Additional Information Provide telemetry monitoring and post-surgical nursing care across multiple specialty populations Royal blue scrubs required Part of the Yale New Haven Health System with free parking available Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious/medical exemptions only Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the hospital Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-772554.
