Transportation Coordinator responsibilities and shift details: Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8:30 am – 5:00 pm | In-office only. Responsibilities Daily Routing: sequence stops efficiently; balance cube to prioritize deliveries on our own trucks and minimize common carrier utilization; provide guidance to sales, customer service, and operations on how new customers will be delivered; set route start times; provide appointment times and receiving hours to operations and drivers; guide drivers on efficient and safe delivery routes; route vendor pickups; route transfers. Transportation Planning: update routes on routing sheets including holiday schedules; make geocoding updates in the system; create and separate routes as needed based on vendor/customer needs; investigate and implement optimal routing solutions; take field calls from Sales Representatives for potential new customers to plan routes; prepare a number of reports (on-time delivery %, driver efficiency, underutilized routes) for department heads. Driver Support: monitor route efficiencies, communicate with drivers on extra stops and route issues; field driver calls regarding customer, route, and truck issues; report dwell times to CS and Sales to aid delivery performance; provide guidance to drivers on delivery or software needs (Geotab, POD, Samsara, Whip Around). Fleet Support: monitor equipment utilization for trucks; plan and schedule Preventative Maintenance (PM) and defects in Whiparound; partner with Safety & Compliance to communicate training or corrective action opportunities; perform other duties as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma Good oral and written communication skills Attention to detail and accuracy Moderate level of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business 3 years of experience in truck routing, scheduling, and mapping in a redistribution environment Basic comprehension of warehouse logistics Eclipse system experience Working Environment Work is performed in a warehouse office environment Noise level is moderately loud Occasional travel to offsite training and company meetings Physical Demands The employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear; occasionally required to stand and/or walk. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds while handling files and small packages. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
