Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), every other weekend required with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Contract length up to 20+ weeks through February 27, 2027.

Highlights:

• High-volume birthing center averaging 300+ births per month with approximately 20 births in 24 hours
• 2:1 patient ratios with double labor assignments as a daily occurrence on this fast-paced unit
• Comprehensive care including intrapartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum services for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater
• 24-hour orientation provided with Epic EMR, Pyxis, and SBAR systems in use
• Float requirement to Special Maternity Care high-risk OB unit as needed; no call requirement
• Scrubs provided; interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required; 3 years preferred
• Must have experience in high-volume settings with 300+ births per month
• Required certifications: BLS, AWHONN Intermediate (or C-EFM), and NRP
• Required skills: Circulate for C-sections, sterile vaginal exam, and competent in immediate newborn care
• Epic charting system experience required
• North Carolina or Compact nursing license
• First-time travelers accepted if they have experience in large, high-volume similar settings
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Additional Information:

• Patient population includes neonates, adolescents, and adults
• Unit features obstetrical triage for patient screening and routine outpatient procedures including antenatal fetal surveillance, IV hydration, and medication administration
• Up to 7 days of requested time off may be considered (must be approved prior to contract signing; no changes after booking)
• Candidates must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Pre-start online modules required (approximately 8-10 hours, non-billable)
