Project Engineering ManagerNashville, TNFull-TimeA food industry company is hiring a Project Engineering Manager to lead and execute large-scale, complex technical projects. This role leads a team of engineers, either directly or indirectly, and oversees the design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions across the company's facilities. This position works independently on most tasks, escalating only the most intricate challenges.ScheduleFull-time. Travel up to 50 percent to other locations.Compensation$125,000 to $155,000 per year, plus bonus.What You'll DoThis manager develops engineering designs, material specifications, and project cost estimates, and conducts feasibility studies and economic analysis to support design decisions. The role ensures designs meet required standards and codes, validates field work, and creates as-built drawings, and reviews engineering submissions for accuracy and completeness. This position manages project execution by directing vendors and contractors, coordinates project schedules with plant personnel, vendors, and contractors, and collaborates with management and engineering teams to implement plans. The manager partners with vendors and contractors on layouts and utility requirements, reviews consultant work to recommend adjustments, and maintains documentation, including manuals, drawings, specifications, and vendor contacts. This role conducts planning and reviews during pre-project phases, including defining scope of work and preparing and evaluating proposals, submits regular status reports to management, manages contract administration, and reviews bid packages. The manager prepares project documents, including budget analyses, plans, and schedules, and monitors installations to ensure they meet specifications and stay within budget.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, plus 5+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience2+ years of experience in a leadership role, including team development and managementAbility to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design issuesKnowledge of installation and construction project schedulingProject management, contract administration, and national codes and standards interpretation skillsProficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft OfficeExcellent written and oral communication, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptabilityProficiency in engineering economicsAbility to travel up to 50 percent of the timePreferred QualificationsPrevious experience managing multi-million-dollar projects with large scopesKnowledge of engineering principles and techniques related to food processing and the meat industryCompensation and Benefits$125,000 to $155,000 per year, plus bonusStandard benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO)To apply, submit your resume for consideration.
