Shop Helper (Apprentice I) Sessa Sheet Metal

The Position: We are a Sheet Metal / HVAC fabrication shop specializing in the production of ductwork and related components. We are looking for a motivated Shop Helper to join our team and learn the trade from the ground up. This is an entry-level position ($17-18 per hour to start) with opportunities for advancement through hands-on training and industry apprenticeship programs. We are a growing sheet metal manufacturing company in the Baltimore area, serving a wide range of companies across government and private sectors. Responsibility:

• Assist with assembling ductwork and related components
• Learn to properly wrap and seal ductwork according to company and industry standards
• Use basic hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow safety procedures and contribute to a safe work environment
• Support shop production tasks as directed by the Shop Foreman/Manager

Qualifications:

• No prior sheet metal experience required — training will be provided
• Strong willingness to learn and develop trade skills
• Ability to follow directions and work in a team environment
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work on your feet throughout the shift
• Reliable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude

Special vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Exposure to varying weather conditions, indoor/outdoor environments typical of construction sites, and the possibility of working in confined spaces and at heights. The noise level in the work environment, particularly when in the field, can vary significantly and at times be very loud.
