Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg

Title: Med-Surg RN – Med-Surg

Schedule: Weekends: Yes — 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period - Holiday requirement: May be expected to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, NYE, NY Day)

Requirements:

• Minimum experience: 1 year RN required
• Preferred: Trauma Level II experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Charting system: Epic (Epic hardstop required)
• Key clinical skills: med-surg and post-op care, tracheostomy care, wound care/WoundVac, chest tube/PleurEvac management, IV/PICC/central line care, blood product administration, HFNC/BiPAP/CPAP, feeding tube care, PCA management, phlebotomy, oxygen therapy, isolation/PPE

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in acute care and post-operative settings.
• Monitor patient status and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and care processes.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and interactions.

Compliance / Notes:

• Compact license must be in hand at submission
• Background: Facility does not accept Nursys or BG hits
• Local radius/rules: Candidates within 50-mile local radius; accepted at lower bill rate per local rule
• Scheduling/Time-off (RTO): Must request all RTO/scheduling requests up-front during submittal; excessive RTO requests may delay offer
• Modules: Pre-start modules required (average ~16 hours); >20 hours needs PM approval
• Return-staff policy: May return after 3 months
• Dress code: Solid navy blue uniforms/scrubs (no prints)
• Parking: Free in any unrestricted employee/visitor surface lot
