If you have a pet of your own, they can enjoy complimentary Pet Day Camp and Boarding, as well as discounts on grooming and veterinary care at all of our locations and clinics.We are currently looking for an Assistant Manager to join the team at our Lake Norman resort in the Charlotte Area!The Assistant Manager will oversee day-to-day operations of the resort and staff, as well as providing direct support to the Resort Manager on a variety of management needs.Essential functions of our Assistant Manager include:Overseeing daily operations of the resort by maintaining standards of conduct, cleanliness, and safetyManaging resort labor, which may include but not be limited to creating and posting staff schedules, reviewing and approving timecards, and controlling labor hours to align with business needsCommunicating recruitment needs to operations management and HR, and interviewing, hiring and onboarding new resort employeesSupervising, training and coaching team members on company standards, policies and procedures, while also identifying high performers and developing them for growth within the companyMotivating and teaching resort staff to be successful in their roles by delivering premier service to pet guests and their parents in a safe, clean, fun atmosphereFostering open communication throughout the resort, including with regional and corporate teams, regarding resort operations, as well as partnering with regional maintenance crew on any building issuesSupporting new and current team members with completion of required courses and other trainingDocumenting and delivering employee corrective actions and terminations, when necessaryMaintaining appropriate inventory of supplies, performing walk-throughs, managing lodging calendars, leading meetings, and performing other recurring Manager on Duty (MOD) obligationsMaintaining excellent customer service metrics such as Net Promoter Score (NPS) and reviews on Google and other social media sitesSpeaking with customers if they have concerns, questions or complaints, maintaining a high level of professionalism, care and concernDeveloping methods and procedures to increase sales, promote new business, retain current customer base, and attract new customersPerforming resort opening and/or closing duties, and other tasks as assignedMaintaining 5-day workweeks (which currently run Monday-Sunday) onsite at the resort, with no more than 3 consecutive "off" days from week to weekWorking onsite at the resort at least 3-4 weekend days per month and on holidaysQualifications to be an Assistant Manager include:1-2 years of experience in a supervisory or management roleHigh school diploma required (college degree preferred)Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, including the ability to manage, guide, train, and motivate employeesAbility to resolve conflict, establish and build relationships, and successfully engage with customersDetail-oriented and focused on results, including a desire to ensure goals are met or exceededAbility to develop and train staff, utilizing skills of staff most appropriatelyPrior leadership experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality operations or similarPrevious experience in animal care or related field is preferredBasic skills with common computer software, including Microsoft Office SuiteComfortable being around dogs of all sizes and physically able to lift up to 60 lbsComfortable working in front of house and back of house roles within the resortFlexibility to resort schedule needs including days, night, weekends, holidays, and peak timesValid driver's license and working motor vehicleCheck out our Perks & Benefits!Complimentary Pet Day Camp – Bring your dog with you to work!30 Days of Complimentary Pet Boarding (non-holidays)On-demand pay with DailyPayDiscounted Veterinary Care and Grooming Services (per location)Dog/Cat Adoption AssistanceFitness ReimbursementPaid Time Off401(k) with company matchHealth (with company-funded HSA option), Dental and Vision InsuranceWe also offer several career development paths for resort team members, including our management training program, "Unleashed Leadership Academy," our Grooming Academy that provides scholarships and training for associates to become Groomers, and our newest offering, our Dog Training Academy, which trains and certifies employees to become dog trainers.
