We are looking for a forward-thinking, dynamic, and insightful Manager to join our Finance Integrated Program & Delivery (FIPD) team. In this role, you will lead high-impact strategic initiatives that are transforming how we work in Finance. You will serve as a central point of orchestration for a portfolio of high priority, complex initiatives across the Finance organization. This role will bring structure, discipline and a holistic Finance perspective to work that spans across multiple teams, stakeholders, and priorities – ensuring leaders have clear visibility into what is happening, where decisions are required, and what could impact successful delivery.

In addition to managing Finance initiatives, this role will help accelerate AI adoption within our team by developing a strong understanding of existing processes and ways of working, identifying opportunities where AI can create meaningful value, and helping translate those opportunities into actionable use cases.

A successful candidate will operate as more than a project manager. They will be expected to understand the broader business context, anticipate what is needed next, challenge teams when appropriate, and translate complex information into clear recommendations and actions for senior leadership.

General Responsibilities:

• Executive Visibility: Develop concise decision-oriented updates that provide senior leaders with a clear understanding of progress, emerging issues, key decisions, and areas requiring leadership intervention
• Strategic Communications: Own and drive clear, consistent, and timely communications across the portfolio, translating complex program information into audience-appropriate messaging for executives, stakeholders and delivery teams; ensure key decisions, priorities, risks, and changes are communicated effectively and drive shared understanding and action
• Cross-Program Connectivity: Identify connections, overlaps, competing priorities, and opportunities across initiatives to ensure work is managed through enterprise lens
• Proactive Risk and Dependency Management: Identify risks, dependencies, capacity constraints and potential delivery challenges early; drive mitigation plans and escalate issues before they impact critical outcomes
• Decision Management: Establish clear mechanisms for capturing decisions, identifying decision owners, defining required inputs and ensuring decisions are made at the appropriate level and translated into action
• Strategic Planning: Translate strategic priorities into executable plans, helping teams move from broad objectives to defined outcomes, workstreams, milestones and measurable success criteria
• Forward-Looking Insights : Looking beyond current milestones to anticipate upcoming needs, decisions, risks, and organizational impacts, helping leadership stay multiple steps ahead
• AI Opportunity Identification & Adoption: Develop a strong understanding of the team’s current processes and workflows to proactively identify opportunities where AI can simplify work, automate manual activities, improve insights or enhance how the team operates; partner with team members to evaluate, prioritize, and advance high-value opportunities from idea through implementation
• Reporting & Analytics: Provide critical visibility into the AI portfolio. Utilize standardized reporting to track adoption, resource demand, and project health, replacing manual/bespoke reporting with self-service tools.
• Continuous Improvement : Evaluate how work is managed today and introduce new tools, AI capabilities, automation, and operating practices that make program delivery faster, simpler, and more effective

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience
• At least 5 years of Project Management or Program Management experience, including experience leading business transformation projects

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters / MBA degree
• Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies in a technical or data-driven environment 
• SAFe certification 
• Experience with AI or GenAI-enabled projects, including familiarity with risk governance or AI model lifecycle management
• Strong familiarity with Finance/Accounting operations and the challenges of legacy data ecosystems
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive consensus across disparate teams (e.g., Business, Tech, Risk, Data)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $151,900 - $173,400 for Manager, Project Management

Richmond, VA: $138,100 - $157,700 for Manager, Project Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
