Mechanic

Responsibilities Leads technical teams for installations and repairs, within or across technical trades specialties. Manages, oversees, schedules, and assigns tasks to one or more multiple jobs. Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment while performing a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems, subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations. Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time. Installs, upgrades, and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field changes while maintaining effective customer communications and relations. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel. Minimum Qualifications High School education, Trade School, or equivalent, and 6 years of related experience to include at least 2 years of team/deck lead experience. Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty. Must understand the Tag out Procedure. Must exhibit leadership experience and past work experience managing teams performing trades. Preferred Qualifications Prefer technical/professional certifications in the mechanical field. Exhibit leadership skills, communication skills, and ethical decision-making. Knowledgeable of various supply and exhaust ventilation systems. Computer based knowledge a plus. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment and boxes (no less than 30 lbs.). Must be able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. May be required to perform other duties involving high heat, humidity, noise, dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May ride ships at sea for extended periods. May require wearing a respirator. Travel within and outside of the continental United States may be required.
