Pasta Maker
The Pasta Maker is responsible for producing and processing premium-quality pasta in accordance with company standards for safety, quality, and consistency. This position involves operating traditional pasta-making equipment, ensuring cleanliness and efficiency throughout the production process, and supporting the overall success of the Pasta Department through teamwork and attention to detail.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor traditional pasta-making and packaging machinery.
- Ensure the proper setup, operation, and sanitation of all pasta equipment.
- Oversee daily packaging and production processes to maintain product quality.
- Recover and handle pasta from the pasteurizer while ensuring food safety standards are met.
- Conduct regular inspections of pasta quality, consistency, and moisture levels.
- Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and production schedules accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
- Complete required production logs and documentation.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or product quality issues to the department manager.
- Arrive on time for scheduled shifts, neatly groomed, and in proper uniform.
- Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned by the manager.
Minimum Requirements:
- General knowledge of Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Good organizational and time management abilities.
- Basic math and measurement skills for recipe and batch adjustments.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English to perform job functions effectively.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time during production shifts.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive motions.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, food manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Compliance with all safety and hygiene regulations, including wearing required protective equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in pasta production, bakery, or food manufacturing.
- Familiarity with traditional pasta-making techniques and equipment.
- Understanding of ingredient quality control and production efficiency.
This position is performed in a food production facility where temperature, humidity, and noise levels may vary.
