Job Description
This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment in a high-volume food and beverage production facility. The Maintenance Mechanic diagnoses and repairs issues with production and building systems, performs preventive maintenance to reduce downtime, and helps ensure safe, high-quality product output. The schedule follows a rotating pattern of two day shifts and two night shifts, primarily Wednesday through Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with occasional overtime and weekend flexibility required.
Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair industrial equipment, including conveyors, packaging lines, HVAC systems, mixers, blenders, pumps, fillers, and related machinery.
Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and extend the life of production and facility equipment.
Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential issues and address them proactively before they impact production.
Work on improvement projects that enhance equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency.
Troubleshoot and support variable frequency drives (VFDs) and assist with PLC-related troubleshooting as needed.
Perform building and facility maintenance tasks to ensure the overall operation remains safe, reliable, and compliant.
Document daily activities, including downtime events, corrective actions taken, spare parts used, and preventive maintenance performed.
Support food and beverage production by ensuring equipment operates safely and consistently to meet quality and safety standards.
Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize work, coordinate repairs, and minimize disruption to operations.
Work a rotating schedule of two days and two nights (primarily Wednesday through Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) and remain flexible to work weekends, other shifts, and overtime as needed.
Operate safely in a cold, GMP-regulated environment and follow all safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
Essential Skills
Previous troubleshooting experience in a food and beverage production environment.
3–5 years of maintenance mechanic or maintenance technician experience preferred.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, including experience with conveyors, packaging equipment, mixers, blenders, pumps, and fillers.
Experience with VFDs (variable frequency drives) and the ability to troubleshoot and support them.
Basic PLC troubleshooting capability or familiarity with PLC-controlled systems.
Hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatics in an industrial setting.
Proficiency with preventive maintenance practices for mechanical and electrical equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues safely within an industrial environment.
Capability to work safely and effectively in a cold (approximately 36°F) GMP environment.
Flexibility to work a rotating schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High-pressure pasteurizer experience is highly desirable.
Welding skills are a plus and can support equipment repair and improvement projects.
Experience working in a food-grade or GMP-compliant facility.
Strong documentation skills for recording downtime, maintenance activities, and parts usage.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a production environment.
Comfort working in a rapidly growing company with evolving processes and equipment.

The environment is cold, around 36°F, and follows strict Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, requiring adherence to hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety protocols. Maintenance Mechanics work primarily on a schedule of two day shifts and two night shifts, typically Wednesday through Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with occasional overtime and weekend flexibility. The role involves working around industrial food-processing equipment such as conveyors, packaging lines, mixers, blenders, pumps, fillers, HVAC systems, and high-pressure pasteurization equipment, as well as VFDs, PLC-controlled systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components. The position requires comfort working in a cold production area and navigating a busy, fast-paced, and safety-focused manufacturing environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
