Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a highly motivated Principal System Planning and Studies Engineer to join the Power Delivery & Renewable team. This senior position involves direct interface with the power delivery team, project management, technical assignments, and business development. The role ensures project execution according to all applicable codes and standards, including safety, environmental, quality assurance, and quality control. The candidate will collaborate with various departments and sectors within Arcadis.

The incumbent will coordinate the Power Delivery & Renewables team and perform all aspects of power system planning and studies for utility and developer clients in North America, working closely with renewable energy teams and other business units.

Role accountabilities:

• Manage and grow the System Planning & Studies team, ensuring resource planning and quality reviews.
• Perform and coordinate HVAC and HVDC power systems analysis activities.
• Lead the development of power system planning & studies processes, methodologies, and tools.
• Act as Project Manager, Proposal Manager, Program Manager, and Technical Lead to support business growth.
• Mentor junior team members and ensure quality assurance.
• Support business development and project execution through client meetings and strategic planning.

This role involves up to 20% travel within North America and internationally.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in Power System Planning and Studies, familiar with North American market operators and policies.
• Experience in planning/feasibility studies, interconnection, transient studies for utility and developer clients.
• Proficiency with PSCAD, PSSE, and other planning software.
• PE License certification.

Preferred:

• Ph.D. in Power Systems (Strongly Preferred).
• HVDC experience.

Benefits & Compensation:

Salary range: $113,933 - $222,739, based on experience and location. Benefits include health insurance, 401K, paid leave, and more.
