Electrical Engineer I

Qualifications Education/Training Work generally requires a bachelor's degree in an electrical engineering field. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE. Experience Work requires a minimum of three years' experience in design, planning, maintenance, and evaluation in facility electrical systems. Experience in a utility plant setting preferred OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Be Bold. What You'll Do:
• Coordinate and monitor maintenance and renovation of all University utility plant electrical systems.
• Attend weekly plant coordination meetings and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Develop utility shutdown request forms, including full lists of impacted equipment, and communicate impacts to operations teams.
• Develop and supervise electrical switching procedures for construction or maintenance projects.
• Troubleshoot electrical distribution systems and equipment within utility plants.
• Prepare reports and analyses outlining progress, trends, and recommended improvements to plant electrical systems.
• Conduct plant walk-throughs to identify and address operational issues.
• Update electrical training modules and train operations/maintenance staff.
• Use the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to manage inventory and maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate one-line diagrams and electrical panel schedules for utility plants. Choose Duke.
