Clinical Laboratory Scientist II

Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Clinical Lab Scientist, you will be a critical diagnostic expert, performing complex laboratory tests to ensure accurate, timely results vital for patient diagnosis and treatment. Every day, you will execute a wide range of analytical procedures across various lab disciplines (hematology, chemistry, microbiology, etc.). You will analyze specimens, operate and maintain instruments, interpret results, and conduct quality control, providing crucial data for clinical decisions. To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate a strong scientific foundation, advanced technical proficiency, exceptional problem‑solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail. Your paramount commitment will be to accuracy and regulatory adherence. Responsibilities Interact with physicians, nurses, ward clerks, phlebotomists, and other health‑care professionals to resolve problems involving specimen collection, handling, order appropriateness, and result reporting. Consult with Clinical Laboratory Scientists, Laboratory Supervisors, Administrative Directors of Laboratory Services, Medical Directors of Laboratory Services, and Pathologists for policy clarification and problem resolution. Specimen Processing & Testing Receive, process, and test patient samples within established timelines. Perform routine and specialized procedures in all assigned areas following SOP manual guidance. Quality Control & Proficiency Testing Receive, process, test, and document results of proficiency test samples in the same manner as patient specimens. Perform required quality control testing and documentation, and follow established guidelines for corrective action when results are not within acceptable performance levels. Qualifications Three years of bench experience required; supervisory experience is helpful. Master's Degree in relevant laboratory science or management is desirable, or equivalent work experience may substitute academic requirements. Current State of California license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist required. ASCP registration or equivalent preferred. Pay Range $52.04 – $77.42 per hour #J-18808-Ljbffr
