Staff Accountant
This position is for a staff accountant in the Water and Wastewater Division of the Mississippi Public Utilities Staff. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business and a thorough understanding of financial statements and audit functions. Prior accounting experience is strongly preferred.
What you'll need to be successful:
- Ability to perform work in Excel.
- Ability to verify accounting entries by source documents.
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 2-5 years of experience.
- Accounting degree and experience, preferably 3+ years audit experience.
- Experience verifying accounting entries by source documents.
- Prior water and wastewater experience is a bonus.
