Position Overview

A Surgery Center in Santa Barbara is seeking a Full-Time Surgical Technician to support surgeons, anesthesia personnel, RNs, and other surgical staff in delivering high-quality patient care. This role is responsible for assisting before, during, and after surgical procedures while ensuring a safe and efficient operating room environment.

• Demonstrate knowledge of surgical procedures and the scrub technician role in performing these procedures
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field throughout surgical procedures
• Assemble supplies, instruments, and equipment required for scheduled procedures
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team during procedures
• Properly handle, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
• Assist with maintaining adequate inventory of supplies in the operating room
• Store and stock supplies for easy accessibility during procedures
• Maintain and update instrument tray lists and surgeons’ preference cards
• Adhere to infection control policies, including bloodborne and airborne pathogen protocols

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program required
• NBSTSA certification or equivalent preferred
• Current CPR certification required
• Previous Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience preferred

• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
