Step into a hands-on laboratory role where precision fuels product excellence. As a key member of our well-established team, you’ll support steel cord manufacturing by verifying materials, monitoring process chemistry, and documenting results that drive quality decisions every shift.

Compensation: $21.66/hr (Days) | $23.41/hr (Nights)
Location: Clarksville, TN

You’ll begin by setting up, adjusting, and calibrating instruments to ensure reliable performance. From there, you’ll rotate through testing raw materials, in-process chemical solutions, and finished steel cord products against specifications. Your day will include physical, chemical, and instrumental analyses—often using titration and precise pipetting techniques—while you also evaluate solutions used in plating and wire drawing. When steel cord samples come in, you’ll identify and quantify impurities and elemental content, then translate findings into standardized forms, written reports, graphs, and charts. You’ll prepare fresh chemical solutions to standard formulas as needed and finish your shift by cleaning and sterilizing equipment so the next run starts right.

• Set up, adjust, calibrate, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments
• Test raw materials, chemical solutions, and manufactured steel cord products for conformity to specifications
• Perform daily physical, chemical, and instrumental analyses, including titration and pipetting
• Test solutions used in plating and wire drawing processes
• Identify and quantify impurities and elemental content in steel cord samples
• Document results on standardized forms; prepare written reports, graphs, and charts
• Prepare chemical solutions following standard formulas
• Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment

• Strong math and analytical skills
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort generating daily reports
• Experience in quality control and/or SPC is a plus
• Availability for a 12.5-hour rotating shift (Days: 6AM–6PM | Nights: 6PM–6AM); this is primarily a night shift role, with openness to days as business needs evolve; initial training conducted on days
