Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients to assess their physical, cognitive, and functional abilities.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and goals.
• Use a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities to address patient needs, including exercises, adaptive equipment, and assistive technology.
• Provide training on the use of adaptive equipment and techniques to support patient independence.
• Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Adhere to all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, following infection control and safety protocols.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to occupational therapy assistants as needed.
• Manage and maintain therapeutic equipment and supplies, ensuring they are used safely and effectively.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of occupational therapy services.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications of the Occupational Therapist:

• Graduate of an occupational therapy assistant curriculum accredited by either the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) or Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
• Hold a valid State Occupational Therapy License.
