Job Title : Process Engineer

Location : Hemlock, MI

Shift: On-site, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Contract duration: 6 months, with potential to extend. Occasional off-shift or extended hour support may be required.

Interview Process: Initial phone or video screening, followed by a panel interview with project and team members. Local candidates preferred; non-local candidates willing to relocate on their own may be considered if local candidates aren't available, and may be asked to come onsite before final selection.

This role sits within a global materials science and technology company's solar manufacturing operation, providing hands on engineering support to keep equipment, product, and process performance on track.

What You'll Do

• Provide hands on engineering support on the manufacturing floor to troubleshoot equipment, product, process, and operational issues
• Analyze data, observations, and process conditions to identify root causes and improvement opportunities
• Recommend, implement, and verify corrective actions to improve quality, uptime, throughput, and process stability
• Support equipment start up, troubleshooting, commissioning, qualification, and process optimization
• Partner with operations, maintenance, quality, engineering, and vendors to resolve issues and sustain improvements
• Maintain procedures, standard work, and technical documentation
• Communicate findings, risks, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders

What We Need From You

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or another STEM field
• 2 or more years of professional process engineering experience in a manufacturing plant
• Hands on experience in a manufacturing, production, industrial, or plant environment
• Demonstrated ability to identify equipment, product, process, or operational issues and implement corrective actions
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and cross functional teamwork skills

Preferred / Bonus

• Experience with root cause analysis, Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, or other continuous improvement methods
• Familiarity with manufacturing systems, process controls, and data analysis tools
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to spend time on the manufacturing floor engaging with operators
