The wage listed in this job posting reflects the increase.This position is open to All Applicants.The Alaska Psychiatric Institute (API) is recruiting for a Psychiatric Nurse 1/2 Flex.What You Will Be Doing: Provide skilled nursing care to patients; individualized patient assessment and care; participates in therapeutic activities as facilitator, or co-facilitator. Administers medications to patients and provides education including expected outcomes, possible side effects, and any food/drug interactions. Transcribe all orders, recording this information in each patient's Medication Administration Record (MAR) and chart regarding patient behavior and responses to medication treatment. Completes nursing assessments on newly admitted patients, patients on close observation special status, or patients that may require emergency seclusion or restraint. Determines and prioritizes individual nursing needs.
