This is a highly business-facing role partnering with underwriting, product, compliance, operations, and executive leadership to provide practical legal and regulatory advice across a specialized insurance portfolio.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with the business and serving as the primary legal advisor for a niche line of insurance.*MUST HAVE 10-15+ YEARS OF TRAVEL INSURANCE LEGAL-SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE*Role & ResponsibilitiesServe as the lead legal advisor to the Travel Insurance business.Advise on insurance regulatory, compliance, and Department of Insurance matters.Partner with underwriting, product, operations, and business leadership.Review and support travel insurance products throughout their lifecycle.Provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance on strategic initiatives.QualificationsJ.D. and admitted to at least one U.S. Bar.6-10+ years of legal experience, including direct Travel Insurance experience.P&C insurance experience (carrier or law firm).Strong knowledge of insurance regulatory and compliance matters.Excellent business counseling and stakeholder management skills.Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Compensation & BenefitsBase Salary: Up to $260k Bonus: 20% TargetEquity: eligibilityFull medical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with company matchGenerous PTOLocation & Work ModelNYC, Jersey City, or HartfordHybrid (3 days/week in office)Two in-office days must be in NYC or Jersey CityWhy This Role?Join a leading global insurer as the dedicated legal advisor for its Travel Insurance business.
