Shipping and Receiving Associate (2nd Shift)

This role focuses on efficiently handling all shipping and receiving activities within a busy warehouse and paper processing facility. You will inspect incoming shipments, verify documentation, maintain accurate inventory records, and support production by ensuring materials and supplies are available when needed. You will also assist with organizing the warehouse, coordinating outbound shipments, and working closely with carriers and the inventory team.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming shipments and carefully inspect goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies.
• Verify received items against purchase orders, packing slips, and other shipping documents.
• Record all incoming items accurately in the inventory system.
• Coordinate with the inventory team to ensure stock is properly stored, labeled, and recorded.
• Report any damaged, missing, or incorrect items promptly to supervisors and vendors.
• Operate computer software such as Microsoft D365 to process shipments and maintain records.
• Work with carriers to schedule pickups and coordinate outbound shipments.
• Assist with inventory counts and perform regular stock audits to ensure accuracy.
• Monitor and track materials and supplies needed for the production floor and ensure timely replenishment.
• Load and unload trucks and other vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Handle inbound orders, verify shipments, and support logistics, order selection, and kitting activities.

Essential Skills

• Previous shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse environment.
• Hands-on experience with shipping, receiving, and shipment verification processes.
• Ability to perform loading and unloading tasks and other physical labor duties.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy items for extended periods.
• Experience with inventory control, including stock audits and inventory counts.
• Ability to work effectively in a loud production environment with varying temperatures.

Work Environment

This position is based in a paper processing and manufacturing facility with a warehouse setting. Training is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, after which you will move to a second shift from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting, loading, and unloading, as well as general physical labor throughout the shift.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Covington, TN.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $17.15 - $17.15/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
