Travel RN – First Assist / Operating Room (OR)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Shift: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM | On-Call Required (approximately 10–12 calls per 6-week period)

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon directly during operative procedures as a Registered First Assistant
• Ensure the operating room is properly prepared, maintained, and cleaned before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the broader surgical team to support safe and effective patient care
• Float to other departments as needed based on facility staffing requirements
• Adhere to all surgical safety protocols, sterile technique standards, and infection control procedures

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)
• Valid First Assist Certification (RNFA or equivalent)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability and willingness to take on-call shifts as scheduled
• Willingness to float to other departments when needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
• Prior travel nursing experience in a surgical or perioperative setting
