Quality Control Lab Technician

Job Summary

A direct hire opportunity is available for a Quality Control Lab Technician in Livermore, CA. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented laboratory professional with experience in quality control testing, GMP documentation, raw material analysis, and regulated lab procedures.

The Quality Control Lab Technician will support conformance testing of incoming materials, raw materials, packaging components, and active ingredients while maintaining accurate laboratory records and compliance with approved SOPs. This position offers the opportunity to work in a structured, team-focused lab environment with cross-functional collaboration across purchasing, production, and receiving teams. Candidates who enjoy hands-on testing, organized documentation, and contributing to product quality and compliance will be a strong fit.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct conformance testing on incoming raw materials, packaging materials, chemical raw materials, and active ingredients according to specifications and approved procedures.
- Perform physical and chemical analysis, potency testing, sample preparation, and coordination of outside lab testing as needed.
- Maintain accurate lab records, testing documentation, ERP product data, Excel spreadsheets, retain standards, and expired raw material retesting files.
- Perform internal monitoring, calibration, and documentation of laboratory instruments to support GMP compliance.
- Support investigations related to lab deviations, non-conformances, out-of-specification results, and change control procedures.
- Maintain lab inventory, keep the laboratory clean and compliant, follow all safety and GMP guidelines, and support cross-training in other QC areas as needed.

HOT BUTTONS:

- Incoming Packaging Component inspections ; Sampling/Testing as per the specifications

- Incoming Raw Material Inspections ; Sampling /testing /release as per the specifications

- Handling and testing of incoming Raw materials( pH , Specific Gravity , Refractive Index , Physical tests )

- Sending samples out for analytical testing as needed

- Maintenance of PK and RM -Master Samples/Library

- Release of Packaging components and Raw Materials in ERP

- Attention to detail , thorough in reviewing and documentation process

- Other job functions as needed. 

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary: $52,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Conduct QC testing of incoming materials, packaging materials, raw materials, and active ingredients.
- Maintain GMP-compliant documentation, lab records, retain standards, and testing records.
- Perform lab instrument monitoring, calibration documentation, and internal quality checks.
- Support investigations for deviations, non-conformances, out-of-specification results, and change control activity.

- Associate degree with 3 or more years of laboratory work experience required.
- Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Experience with physical and chemical analysis, raw material testing, sampling procedures, and laboratory documentation.
- Ability to follow approved test methods, SOPs, GMP requirements, and safety policies.
- PC proficiency, including experience working with databases, ERP systems, and Excel spreadsheets.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working under pressure, meeting deadlines, and reporting non-conformances in a timely manner.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Prior quality control laboratory experience in a GMP-regulated environment.
- Experience with ERP software, lab inventory management, calibration documentation, and retain standard maintenance.
- Experience supporting deviation, non-conformance, out-of-specification, or change control investigations.
