Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical (Telemetry)

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Medical/Surgical (Telemetry) to join our team on the 4th Floor. This unit emphasizes providing exceptional inpatient care, particularly in Bariatrics and Orthopedics. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care while working closely with a collaborative team of healthcare professionals.

Shift Details

• Type: Night shift
• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
• Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekends in a 6-week period

Patient Population

This unit serves a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The target nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-7, which may shift based on unit needs.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
• Telemetry experience
• Ability to maintain hand hygiene compliance of at least 75%
• Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BCLS)
  • NIH Stroke Scale
  • IV Start
  • Telemetry certification
• Must pass EKG Testing prior to start in the specialty

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

Unit Information

The 4th Floor unit consists of 40 beds and focuses on providing 24-hour inpatient care. The unit utilizes systems such as PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR, and Voalte, enhancing workflow and communication among team members.

Orientation

A comprehensive orientation program consists of 36 hours of training. Travelers are required to be available for the entirety of Hospital Orientation during the first week.

Additional Requirements

There is a floating requirement within the unit. Candidates must be flexible and prepared to assist in other areas as needed.

Attire

Scrubs are not provided. Candidates should wear navy, white, or a combination of both colors.

Contract Length

The unit will accept contracts lasting 16 weeks or longer, available until February 27, 2027.
