Litigation Associate Attorney – Technology

Palo Alto or San Francisco, CA

Direct Counsel is seeking Litigation Associate Attorneys with 2–7 years of experience to join a leading global law firm’s Litigation & Regulatory Enforcement practice in Northern California. The firm is seeking both midlevel and senior-level associates to work on high-profile, cutting-edge litigation matters for leading global technology companies across industries including artificial intelligence, social media, search, advertising, gaming, streaming, and virtual meeting platforms.

This is an opportunity to work on sophisticated and emerging legal issues alongside experienced litigators while representing some of the world's leading technology companies.

Position Overview

The Litigation Associate Attorney will handle complex litigation matters and work closely with attorneys and clients on high-profile disputes involving the technology sector. Relevant experience may include consumer class actions, mass tort defense, privacy litigation, and other complex disputes involving technology companies.

The firm is seeking candidates at both the 2–4 year and 5–7 year levels. The ideal candidate will have strong research and writing skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine commitment to providing exceptional client service. Experience at a top law firm or a judicial clerkship is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle sophisticated and complex litigation matters for leading global technology companies

• Assist with high-profile disputes involving AI, social media, search, advertising, gaming, streaming, virtual meeting platforms, and other emerging technologies

• Conduct complex legal research and develop sophisticated legal analysis

• Draft high-quality pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation documents

• Assist with consumer class actions, mass tort defense, privacy litigation, and technology-related disputes

• Participate in all phases of complex litigation, as appropriate to experience level

• Work closely with partners and clients to develop litigation strategies and practical solutions

• Communicate effectively with clients and other attorneys regarding case developments and legal issues

• Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining high-quality work product

• Develop subject-matter expertise in emerging areas of technology litigation and regulatory enforcement

• Contribute to a collaborative, client-focused team environment

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school

• 2–4 years of litigation experience for the midlevel position or 5–7 years of litigation experience for the senior associate position

• Strong experience handling complex litigation matters

• Experience with consumer class actions, mass tort defense, privacy litigation, or disputes involving technology companies preferred

• Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

• Genuine commitment to client service

• Experience at a top law firm or judicial clerkship experience preferred

• Active admission to the California Bar, or eligibility for admission

• Willingness to be based in Palo Alto or San Francisco

• Ability to work collaboratively while managing assignments independently

Compensation

Midlevel Associate Attorney (2–4 years): $235,000–$310,000

Senior Associate Attorney (5–7 years): $365,000–$420,000

Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, and other job-related factors. The position is also eligible for an annual bonus program.
