Role Description The Personal Injury Paralegal at Usten Law P.C. is a full time or Part time, on site role based in Queens and Long Island, NY. This position supports attorneys by managing personal injury case files, including gathering and organizing medical records, police reports, and other evidence. Daily responsibilities include preparing and drafting legal documents, maintaining case calendars and deadlines, coordinating with clients and medical providers, and assisting with discovery responses. The paralegal will conduct factual and legal research, review documents for accuracy and completeness, and help prepare materials for negotiations, hearings, and trials. The role involves frequent client communication, data entry into case management systems, and close collaboration with attorneys and staff to ensure timely, high-quality work.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of law and personal injury procedures, with the ability to apply legal principles to case work.
• Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement packages.
• Strong research skills for gathering case information, reviewing statutes and case law, and locating relevant documents.
• Experience with thorough document review to identify key facts, inconsistencies, and missing information.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, attorneys, medical providers, and insurance representatives.
• Prior paralegal or legal assistant experience in personal injury or civil litigation preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with legal case management software, Microsoft Office, and electronic filing systems.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree; paralegal certificate or equivalent legal training strongly preferred.
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and commitment to client service and ethical practice.
