Position Specifications The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Penn State seeks a Postdoctoral Scholar (term position) under the direction of Dr. Derek Hall. Responsibilities Conduct laboratory testing and execute corrosion experiments under simulated operating and offline conditions. Perform data analysis and interpret results from advanced characterization methods such as X‑ray computed tomography. Analyze corrosion behavior across different treatment conditions. Prepare figures, summaries, presentations, and technical reports to communicate findings. Qualifications and Requirements Ph.D. in corrosion science, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field by the start date. Experience conducting laboratory‑based experimental research. Strong data analysis and interpretation skills. Experience preparing technical reports, figures, and presentations. Experience with X‑ray CT characterization.
