Job Summary

The purpose is to support the physician practices department and to provide coverage when the providers are out of the office. They will report to the providers they work with and will utilize our nurses and MA's in the offices as well.

Job functions include diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illness, performing age-appropriate history and physical, ordering and interpreting diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient's age-specific needs, prescribing appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments to patient's age specific need, monitoring the effectiveness of treatments, providing education of acute and chronic medical conditions, managing chronic medical conditions, reconciling medication list, facilitating appointments to specialist, providing thorough exams and evaluations of patient's health status, facilitating appropriate chronic care management, and keeping track of and referring patient to appropriate preventive medical screenings.

Qualifications

Education requirements include being a Primary Care NP certified in Massachusetts. Experience includes 3 years in a Primary Care setting, proficient computer skills (MS Word), EMR experience required, ability to document in electronic health record completely and accurately, knowledge of clinical reminders and how to use them appropriately, good communication skills, both spoken and written, willingness and ability to work in a team environment, and ability to change with the ever evolving healthcare field. Master Degree, ACLS, and PALS preferred.
