Job Title: Urology Clinic RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 1 year preferred License: Oregon RN License required before start Certifications: ONC preferred but not required Must-Have: Highly rated catheter skills Description: This is a Clinic RN role in a growing urology clinic. An RN in this role should have strong catheter skills and be highly rated on the skills checklist for all urology procedures. The RN should be comfortable with repeated daily catheterization of both males and females as well as suprapubic catheter changes. Candidates with ONC certification will be highly regarded. Local candidates and true travelers are accepted. Patient diagnoses include various types of cancers, incontinence, BPH, erectile dysfunction, renal calculus, voiding dysfunction, overactive bladder, urinary retention, male UTIs, circumcision, and undescended testicles. The clinic sees a diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census is approximately 100 patients with about 15 visits per day. The unit has 14 rooms dedicated to patient care. Special procedures include urinary catheterization of both males and females and suprapubic catheter changes, which is a plus. Interdisciplinary support is available for patient care needs. All preferred skills involve a solid understanding of urology-related tasks and patient education. Candidates should exhibit strong management of medical records and charting systems, particularly in the context of urology procedures. This position doesn’t require on-call or weekend shifts.
