Audiology Assistant

Overview The Audiology Assistant at LACHB supports the Doctor of Audiology and helps maintain clinic flow. The assistant will hone skills while providing care and training to patients at a fast pace. Responsibilities Become proficient at testing protocols and equipment, including DTLA and Glendale locations. Manage and restock audiology supplies and hearing aid (HA) inventory. Sanitize the sound booth, chairs, audio equipment, and otoscope batteries. Input stock HAs/chargers into Counselear software. Assist with VNGS and ENT walk‑ins, including cleaning, checking, repairing, and re‑instructing. Maintain and update fitting software (Resound, Starkey, Rexton, Signia, Oticon) in Noah. Help Dr. Thakkar with hearing tests, follow‑up appointments, and audit audiological evaluation reports. Prepare fittings a day before by charging HAs, preparing purchase agreements, and labeling receivers. Register HA warranties with manufacturers and file loss/damage claim forms. Track PT warranty and trial expiration dates, and monitor items to be sent out (HAR, RFC, EIs). Type chart notes for walk‑ins and follow‑up visits. Assist with ENT supplies requests and assembly of new equipment. Perform hearing‑aid orientation after initial fitting. Other duties as assigned. Compensation $17‑$18 per hour Qualifications & Experience HS Diploma or GED required. Audiology specialty clinic experience preferred. Bilingual – fluent in English and Spanish preferred. General knowledge of HIPAA and CPT codes. Willingness to travel to L.A. based clinics. Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and decision‑making skills. Ability to work independently with high accuracy. Ability to operate various office equipment. Team player with a pleasant attitude toward medical practice. Physical Demands Sit and stand for long periods. Use hands and fingers in repetitive motions daily. Lift, push, pull up to 20 lbs. periodically. Travel to clinic locations as needed. Training will be provided at Downtown or Montebello locations. Flexible travel required.
