Position Summary
The Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory care services for patients across the continuum of care, including inpatient and outpatient settings. Working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, the Respiratory Therapist assesses, treats, monitors, and educates patients with cardiopulmonary conditions while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.
This role offers the opportunity to utilize advanced clinical skills, critical thinking, and professional judgment while caring for patients in a variety of settings and situations.
What You'll Do
Clinical Respiratory Care
• Provide respiratory therapy treatments and interventions according to physician orders and hospital protocols • Assess, monitor, and evaluate patient respiratory status • Administer prescribed respiratory medications and therapies safely and effectively • Perform pulmonary function testing and bedside respiratory assessments • Educate patients and families regarding respiratory treatments and disease management
Critical Care & Emergency Response
• Participate as an essential member of the Code Team during emergency situations • Assist with airway management and advanced life support procedures • Set up, monitor, troubleshoot, and manage mechanical ventilation systems • Administer CPAP and other advanced respiratory therapies • Perform artificial airway care and respiratory interventions as needed
Collaboration & Professional Excellence
• Consult with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams regarding patient care plans • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities • Assist with equipment maintenance, safety checks, and department operations

Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program • Associate Degree or equivalent required • Current Respiratory Certification or Registration (CRT or RRT) required • Current Idaho Respiratory License required • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required within 90 days of hire • Two years of respiratory therapy experience preferred
