Senior Trusts & Estates Attorney

I’m currently partnering with a highly sophisticated private client law firm that’s looking to add a Senior Trusts & Estates Attorney to its Chicago office.

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced estate planning attorney seeking more sophisticated UHNW work in a collaborative, lower-billable environment. The practice represents ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, family offices, and business owners on complex domestic and international estate planning matters, often involving clients in the $50M-$500M+ range.

The group offers big law caliber work with a more sustainable structure, around 1600 billable hours, hybrid flexibility, and strong long-term growth potential.

Responsibilities:

• Draft sophisticated estate planning documents including revocable and irrevocable trusts, GRATs, SLATs, dynasty trusts, ILITs, and related planning structures
• Advise ultra-high-net-worth clients on wealth transfer, tax, charitable, and business succession planning
• Handle trust and estate administration matters, including complex fiduciary issues
• Work closely with family offices, accountants, financial advisors, and outside advisors
• Assist with international private client and cross-border planning matters where applicable
• Maintain meaningful client interaction and counseling responsibilities

Qualifications

• 6+ years of trusts & estates experience
• Strong technical estate planning and drafting background
• Experience working with ultra-high-net-worth clients preferred
• Illinois bar admission required
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
