Job Description The Electrical Superintendent leads electrical teams for large‑scale industrial projects, overseeing projects from pre‑construction through final completion. Responsibilities include safety and quality assurance, client relations, project budgeting, scheduling, vendor management, submittals, and procedures. Responsibilities Establish a 24/7 safety culture for the crew. Liaise with the prime client to facilitate construction activities. Lead projects from planning and scheduling through completion, ensuring milestones and budgets are met. Provide appropriate resources (equipment, material, information) to team members. Offer expertise and knowledge to team members and resolve problems. Plan and execute difficult construction tasks and assist with start‑up and closeout issues. Coordinate with the Project Manager and Director on personnel matters in accordance with company policies and government laws. Identify and mitigate obstacles throughout construction. Set project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards. Assign duties and responsibilities to project staff. Review project proposals, plans, and status reports to adjust schedules and staffing. Provide technical advice, resolve problems, and coordinate subcontractor activities. Analyze and execute CPM‑based project schedules. Represent the company at owner progress meetings. Lead daily field coordination meetings, weekly block schedule meetings, and monthly safety kickoff meetings. Conduct supervisory duties: interview, hire, train, assign, appraise, reward/discipline, and resolve complaints. Education & Experience 10 years of field experience as a skilled tradesperson, or Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or construction management plus 7 years of field experience. 4‑year engineering or construction management degree or equivalent technical experience progressing from Journeyman to Foreman to Superintendent. Prior experience on union projects is strongly preferred. Must hold a current Michigan Electrical Contractor’s License and be eligible to work in Michigan. Skills & Abilities Excellent people and business skills with a strong customer‑service orientation. High energy level, field focused, execution driven, and safety‑centric. Deep knowledge of the construction industry and strategic planning over 1‑3 year horizons. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Understanding of safety laws, company policies, and labor collective bargaining agreements. Comprehensive grasp of construction management processes and building techniques. Ability to lead and work as part of a team with direct profit & loss responsibility. Excellent organizational, leadership, analytical, and problem‑resolution skills. Advanced computer skills.
