All teachers at The Goddard School are responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, fun, healthy, and nurturing learning environment. Educational Qualifications Candidates must possess or be eligible for a Delaware First Certificate. Teacher Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Possessing or working towards an Associate or Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education or related field Having a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred At least 1 year of child care experience preferred Completing or willingness to complete state-required training before starting Knowledge of childcare programming, safety, emergency first-aid, program management, and customer service Developing relationships and communicating effectively with children, parents, and staff Working independently within organizational policies Demonstrating motivation, good interpersonal and communication skills Being dependable, adaptable, and a team player Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attentive listening, and follow-up Addressing stressful situations professionally while multitasking Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., including infants for safety and program needs Meeting background check requirements Qualifications Includes a nurturing teaching style, team attitude, Early Childhood Certificate from Delaware, TECE 1 & 2 or CDA, and preferred degrees.
