Automotive Service Technician

South Bay BMW & Mini is looking for experienced Automotive Service Technicians. Technician job duties include:

· Performs automotive services and repairs on automobiles.

· Performs maintenance and repairs on automobiles.

· Responsible for removing, installing, diagnosing, repairing, disassembling and assembling parts, components and engines.

· Performs all duties according to safety procedures. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.

· May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty.

· Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

· Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

· Works under immediate supervision.

· Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.

REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

· 2 or more years of previous experience in Automotive Service Technician role

· Proficient at operating a personal computer including Microsoft Office: E-Mail, Excel and Word

· ADP Dealer Services Experience a plus

· Ability to work independently and be self-motivated

· Confidence in your ability to be successful

· Outstanding communication skills in both verbal and written

· A desire to work in a commission, performance-based, environment

· Great attitude with high-energy personality

· Excellent customer service skills

· Professional appearance and work ethic

· Timely follow-up

· Ability to work well in a process-driven environment

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Valid driver license in the state that you will work and a good driving record

PHYSICAL AND WORK DEMANDS

· Moving about the dealership

· Using hand/power tools and equipment consistent with industry standards

· Standing six to eight hours in a shift

· Bending, stretching, lifting, reaching, and climbing

· Utilizing, physical and manual dexterity

· Lifting up to 50 lbs.

· Moving vehicles

· Noise

· Vibration

· Paint

· Dust

· Exhaust fumes

· Other hazardous and non-hazardous materials

· Extreme hot and/or cold
