Trade Compliance Analyst

Apex Systems is looking to hire an ONSITE Trade Compliance Analyst for our client based out of Greensboro, NC .

This assignment is anticipated to be a 6month contract with strong potential for extension; however, Apex Systems cannot guarantee the length of this assignment.

This will also have a firstshift Monday-Friday schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Support Trade Compliance activities by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of customs and trade data across multiple systems and reporting platforms.
• Maintain and monitor trade data quality standards, identifying discrepancies and driving corrective actions to improve data accuracy.
• Serve as a key data steward for trade and customs data, supporting data governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Validate importer information, duty calculations, tariff classifications, and compliance-related data elements.
• Assist with compliance reviews and audits by analyzing customs entries and supporting documentation.
• Support post-entry activities, including preparation and review of refund calculations, protests, and post-summary correction submissions.
• Gather, organize, and maintain documentation required to support customs compliance activities from brokers, internal systems, purchasing records, and other relevant sources.
• Analyze trade and customs data using reporting and visualization tools to identify trends, exceptions, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with compliance, data, purchasing, logistics, and operational teams to resolve data issues and support process improvements.
• Track key compliance deadlines and support timely completion of required filings and corrective actions.
• Prepare compliance reports, dashboards, and supporting documentation for internal stakeholders.

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.
• Experience supporting Trade Compliance, Customs Compliance, Import/Export Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related functions .
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large data sets and identify discrepancies.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel , including data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation activities.
• Experience with Power BI for reporting, dashboard creation, and data visualization.
• Experience reviewing, validating, and reconciling compliance-related or financial data.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Experience working with customs systems, broker platforms, ACE, ERP systems, or compliance databases is a plus.

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of customs regulations, tariff classifications, duty recovery programs, or trade compliance processes.
• Experience supporting audits, post-entry reviews, protests, or post-summary corrections.
• Familiarity with USMCA documentation requirements and trade agreement compliance.
• Experience working with purchasing, procurement, or import data supporting tariff or duty-related analysis.
