Quality EngineerLocation: Pittsburgh and Cleveland OHJob DescriptionData/UI/Automation tester with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.Strong SQL/manual testing experience.Data and API testing.Automation testing exposure – Selenium, Cucumber, Kafka.Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC/STLC.Hands-on experience with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI, etc.)Ability to work with SQL and databases for backend validation.Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.Agile/Scrum experienceRoles & Responsibilities:Exposure to test automation/automation testing.Analyze business and technical requirements to define API test strategies and test plansDesign, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for REST and SOAP APIsPerform API testing for functionality, integration, regression, and data validationValidate request/response payloads, headers, status codes, error handling, and business rules.Develop and maintain API automation scripts and frameworks using tools such as REST Assured, Postman, or similar.Identify, log, track, and verify defects using defect management tools.Perform backend testing using SQL/database queries to validate data integrity.Execute end-to-end testing involving API, service, and UI layers where applicable.Ensure adequate test coverage and adherence to quality standards and best practices.Prepare and present test execution reports, metrics, and quality status updates.Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and Agile ceremonies.Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, automation approaches, and tools.
