Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg

New Grad RN VB Brownsville Full Time Days/ Nights This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus. Job Summary This role provides direct clinical patient care. The role will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, and implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis and at the unit level. The role is responsible for supervision of staff to whom appropriate care is delegated. The role is accountable to support the CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care. The RN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process. The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control, with the goal of discharging the patient with an optimum level of care. Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy. Performs and fulfills all HICS responsibilities as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency. Knows the Hospital emergency codes and adheres to hospital policies and procedures for each code. Required Graduate: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as required by law in the state of practice; BLS is required; ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP as applicable by corporate policy for the unit of hire. Preferred Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing Experience: Recent acute care experience (preferred). If offered and required to be vaccinated, you must show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approved religious or medical exemption prior to start date. If you receive an exemption, you will submit to regular testing in accordance with the law. Additional Information Emergency preparedness and incident command responsibilities may be required.
