About the Position

RN – Operating Room – Day Shift

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to provide safe, high-quality perioperative care in Bozeman, Montana. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of operating room nursing experience, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to work in a dynamic surgical environment.

The RN will support patients throughout the surgical process, collaborate with surgeons and the perioperative team, and help maintain patient safety before, during, and after surgical procedures. Candidates must be flexible to cover variable day shifts and participate in on-call rotations as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients before surgery and verify relevant clinical information.

• Prepare patients for surgical procedures and ensure appropriate safety checks are completed.

• Provide perioperative nursing care in accordance with established protocols.

• Perform circulating and/or scrub duties based on experience and departmental needs.

• Assist surgeons and other surgical team members during procedures.

• Monitor patient safety and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.

• Maintain a sterile environment and follow infection-control procedures.

• Document surgical care, patient assessments, and procedures accurately.

• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare professionals.

• Provide patient and family education as appropriate.

• Participate in on-call rotations and provide callback coverage when required.

• Follow hospital policies and professional nursing standards.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

• Active Montana RN license or accepted compact RN privilege.

• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience .

• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification.

• CNOR certification preferred.

• Circulating and scrub experience preferred.

• Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills.

• Ability to adapt to variable schedules and changing surgical department needs.

• Willingness to participate in on-call coverage and required holiday shifts.

Schedule & Assignment Details

• Contract Duration: 13 weeks.

• Start Date: November 16, 2026.

• Shift: Variable day shifts.

• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week.

• Setting: Operating Room / Perioperative Services.

• Scheduling: Flexibility to cover shifts as needed.

• Pager Pay: According to applicable assignment terms.

• Callback: Applicable taxable hourly rate, with a 1-hour minimum.

• Overtime: After 40 hours per week, subject to applicable requirements.
