Health Information Specialist

Job Summary:

You will track, file, and scan clinical paperwork into the appropriate chart, and partner with providers to complete records requests within the departments timeline. You will share duties and tasks received through the centralized records email on a daily basis. You will answer multiple incoming lines and direct calls as appropriate. You will be a resource for internal staff and outside agencies with records questions. This is an on-site position.

Profile:

• Do you have experience with entering data and scanning documents into an electronic health record?
• Are you familiar with state and federal regulations covering HIPAA, substance use, and behavioral health?
• Have you built an organizational system that let you multitask and prioritize competing requests?
• Are you comfortable in a shared office space with frequent interruptions?
• Do you work well both independently and on a supportive, cooperative team?
• Are you flexible and willing to take on new responsibilities as needed?

What We Need:

• HS diploma or GED equivalent required
• 3+ years' general office experience, which may include 2 years' medical records and/or accounting/finance experience
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred
• Bicultural/Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
