Certified Adaptive Driving Instructor

Position Overview Assist the Certified Driving Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS) in the Adaptive Driving Program, evaluating and training clients, maintaining adaptive equipment, performing vehicle maintenance, scheduling service work, and supporting program operations. Responsibilities Assist CDRS in evaluation and training for ADT services. Maintain specialized adaptive equipment and devices for orthopedically or neurologically impaired clients. Perform scheduled maintenance, service, and minor repairs of vehicles and mounting equipment. Schedule all service station related work. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma. Credentials of Certified Driving Instructor or eligible for certification in Alabama. Certified in Alabama as a 3rd party License Examiner or eligible. Valid Alabama driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications College experience preferred. Work Hours Varies/To be determined. Driving Requirement Driving is a primary responsibility. Vehicle use may include personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart. Physical Demands Physical ability to lift and carry objects weighing approximately 50 pounds.
