Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, CPI/MOAB Must-Have: EPIC EMR Experience within the last 12 months Description: The Medical Care Unit is designed for patients with less acute medical needs who may be awaiting placement to a long-term care facility. Patients may present with a variety of medical diagnoses. Nurses may need to float between different care areas, including a dedicated unit for intensive rehabilitation services. Telemetry experience is preferred. Nurses will deliver care following the nursing process which includes assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Collaboration with other health care team members is essential. Nurses will interact effectively with patients and their significant others while maintaining high standards of professional nursing practice. The unit serves diverse patient populations, including geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, telemetry, and those with psychiatric issues. Travelers may occasionally be placed on call during low census periods and are expected to respond and arrive on-site within one hour. Estimated hours per week is 36. Floating between units is required. Weekend rotation is part of the schedule.
