Director, Corporate Communications

Danaher seeks a Director of Corporate Communications to develop media strategy and thought leadership initiatives that enhance the company's visibility and credibility. The role involves managing media relationships, creating compelling content, and partnering across functions to ensure consistent enterprise messaging for a global life sciences and diagnostics organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute proactive and reactive media relations strategy to advance enterprise priorities
- Identify opportunities and create thought leadership platforms positioning executives as innovation authorities
- Craft press releases, media statements, and narrative content translating complex topics for external audiences
- Serve as primary media contact, pitching stories and building long-term reporter relationships
- Partner cross-functionally with Communications, Investor Relations, and business unit leaders on messaging alignment
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, or related field
- Minimum 8 years progressive corporate communications or media relations experience
- Direct experience leading media strategy at publicly traded company or top-tier PR agency
- Demonstrated track record securing earned media coverage in national business and trade press
- Existing relationships with reporters and editors covering life sciences, diagnostics, or industrial technology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and media monitoring platforms (Cision, Meltwater, Business Wire)
- AI fluency including hands-on experience with generative AI tools such as Claude and Copilot
Compensation: $180,000-$215,000 base, plus bonus/incentive pay eligible
