I&C Engineer

Position Title I&C Engineer Job Responsibilities Design, specify, and test instrumentation and control systems, including PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems Develop control system architectures, wiring diagrams, and functional specifications. Ensure integration of I&C systems with electrical, mechanical, and safety systems. Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and risk assessments related to I&C systems. Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and validation activities for new and existing systems. Collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineering teams to meet regulatory compliance and safety requirements. Develop and maintain documentation, procedures, and technical reports related to I&C systems. Job Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or related field 10+ years (or M.Sc. and 8+ years) of experience in I&C system design and implementation, preferably in the nuclear, energy, or aerospace industries Proficiency with PLC programming, control logic development, and instrumentation selection Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards related to I&C systems (e.g., IEEE, ISA, NRC) Familiarity with cybersecurity practices for control systems Experience with project and contract management is preferred Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills Professional Engineer (PE) license or working toward licensure is a plus Job Details Job Type: Full-time Salary Range: $145K- $215K Location: Oak Brook, IL (Onsite) or Remote Due to government contract requirements, this position is restricted to U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residential or GC Holder only About Protingent Protingent is an Award-Winning provider of top-tier Engineering and IT talent, trusted by companies at the forefront of innovation from Software and Aerospace to AI, Clean Tech, Medical Devices, and Connected Technologies.
