Clinical Role

Join a well-established hospital-based Neurosurgery program providing adult inpatient call coverage at a 326-bed medical center. This ongoing locums opportunity offers manageable patient volumes, strong clinical support, and emergency credentialing for qualified candidates.

Assignment Details

• Coverage Needed: July 1 (7:00 AM) - July 6 (7:00 AM)
• Ongoing need of approximately 10 days of coverage per month
• Emergency credentialing available

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Setting: Hospital

Facility Information:

• 326-bed hospital
• 100% adult patient population

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide 24-hour neurosurgical beeper call coverage
• Round on inpatient neurosurgical patients
• Monitor postoperative patients
• Respond to neurosurgical consultations as needed
• Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure continuity of care
• Complete documentation using Epic EMR

Patient Volume:

• Approximately 10-12 patients per day for rounding and monitoring
• When employed neurosurgeons are on-site, they assist with rounding and postoperative follow-up

Support & Technology

• EMR: Epic
• Monday - Friday (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM):
  • Rounding Registered Nurse
  • Physician Assistant
• RN and PA provide limited inpatient assistance while also maintaining clinic responsibilities

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery - Required
• Active Ohio medical license or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) eligibility - Required
• Active DEA registration - Required
• Minimum of 1 year of Neurosurgery experience - Required
